EAT. LIFE. BALANCE.
I’ve been getting promo stuff out and ready for my cooking workshops! It’s been quite busy.
The weather has been absolutley abysmal – our summer has done a runner. That has contributed to not feeling super sparkly – but I’m pretty good.
I still feel foggy at times, and have been meditating a bit more to help stay calm and focused. But my thoughts get all excited about Eat Happy and off they go planning what I should do next. Certainly am an obsessive THINKER at times. I don’t think I’m alone there. Sometimes it’s not easy to feel connected. But I do what I can – just taking some moments and aiming for 10-20 minutes of meditation each morning.
Food wise – I feel balanced. Enjoying eating amazing foods from the garden. Last night’s dinner (and today’s lunch) was purely from the garden! August and September are perfect months for 100% homegrown fare. We had courgetti, with potatoes, runner beans and peas. We could have had more from the garden too, but didn’t go with the meal. We’ve got cucumbers, herbs, tomatoes, eggs, kale, strawberries and raspberries growing and ready to eat right now. Bit behind on planting more winter hardy veg. Need leeks, brocolli, cabbage, and more kale asap!
I’m not doing much movement at all and it’s making me feel horribly sluggish and tired. I’ve fallen off the movement wagon! I’ve signed up to go to a bootcamp class with my friend on Sunday, so that should get me straight back into it. Have to admit – kinda nervous. You know, when you’ve been ouf of the loop for a while? But I always say, something small is better than nothing at all.
**UPDATE** Since writing the draft of this post I’ve actually been out and did an hour long Bootcamp Class, and man, was it tough. You know, when you have to close your eyes kind of tough, the kind of tough where planks and burpees are a nice rest. Feel great to have done it, but it was so tough because I’ve been a bit lazy! Not going to do that again – let’s hope.
CREATIVE STUFF (WATCHING/LISTENING/FOLLOWING)
A podcast I often listen to is Happier with Gretchen Rubin and Elizabeth Craft. Gretchen is the author of The Happiness Project and Better Than Before. The latter being a really brilliant book on habit change, which I highly recommend.
Watching Shameless Maya on YouTube to gather tips on lighting and lenses for videos. Got myself a fancy light ready for mah close up – but hey! not that close.
So it’s all in start up mode here, y’know. Bear with me whilst I get all this up up up and away!
